#88 - Pain
I can't escape this hell…
The Dark Eco injections were unbearable. He laid there on the chair, Dark Eco pouring into him, the pain of it making him scream out in pain, making his body jerk about, making his pupils shrink.
So many times I've tried.
He pulled on the restraints, trying to break them, but to no avail. He tried repeatedly, though it only served to cause his wrists and ankles to become raw, the skin rubbing up against the dirty metal.
But I'm still caged inside.
He grabbed the bars of the cell weakly, sliding down to his knees as he rested his forehead on the cold metal.
Somebody get me through this nightmare.
“Someone get me out,” he pleaded silently, letting go of the bars and falling backwards, landing on his back, but he ignored the pain.
I can't control myself!
“I’m gonna kill Praxis!” A paw was soon placed over his mouth. Jak could not hear what his best friend said. His eyes became pure black, his skin became light grey, and his hair turned a white with a slight blue tint. He threw his arms up into the air, breaking the restraints that held him.
So what if you can see the darkest side of me
The Krimson Guards advanced. Why was Jak doing this, protecting some scraggy kid and some old man? He rushed forward and began to fight, punching one guard, and then another. He suddenly transformed.
No one will ever change this animal I have become
“Something’s happening to me…Something he did…I can’t…control it…,” Jak said, his voice low, and yet it had a harsh tone to it. Daxter looked up at him in confusion.
Help me believe it's not the real me
“Come on Jak! You’re fine!” Daxter said, patting him on the back. “It’s okay, seriously!” Daxter added.
Somebody help me tame this animal!
“Jak! Calm down Jak! Yo, it’s me, lovable ol’ Daxter!” Daxter yelled. Jak paused while Daxter stared in horror at the black claws that were gleaming in the sunlight. He changed back, a look of shock on his face. Daxter smiled at him.
This animal, this animal
A gleam appeared in Dark Jak’s eyes, a grin spreading across his face as he slashed the Krimson Guard’s face.
I can't escape myself
Jak stood, slowly, the large Metal Head infront of him walking forward. Suddenly, in a flash of Dark Eco, Jak transformed into Dark Jak. With a roar, he lunged forward, claws digging into the Metal Head.
So many times I've lied
“J-Jak? You okay dude?” Daxter asked as he walked up to Jak, who was kneeling on the ground, hands resting on the ground. “Fine,” Jak muttered, standing. “I’m just fine.”
But there's still rage inside
The Krimson Guard kicked Daxter in the stomach, sending the Orange Lightning flying through the air. Jak, even though he was hurt, jumped to his feet, catching his small friend. Glaring up at the Krimson Guard, he snarled, an inhumane sound.
Somebody get me through this nightmare
“Just relax,” Daxter said, standing up on Jak’s shoulder. “I’m right here with you, bud. You’re not going through this alone. I’m gonna help you!”
I can't control myself
Jak roared loudly, head facing towards the sky, arms outstretched. Daxter ran for cover, hiding crates as he spotted Dark Jak tackling a Krimson Guard to the ground.
So what if you can see the darkest side of me
Jak dashed down the street, gun in hand as he ducked into an alleyway. He pressed himself up against the wall, hiding in the shadows. Daxter, who was on his shoulder, was quiet as well.
No one will ever change this animal I have become
“I’ll take care of it,” Jak said. “Give me a gun. I’ll shot whoever tries to get in my way.”
Help me believe it's not the real me
Jak sat down heavily in the chair, sighing heavily. Daxter walked up to him, tilting his head to the side. “Come on Jak, don’t be so down,” Daxter said.
Somebody help me tame this animal I have become
Jak stood infront of the Precursor Idol, swallowed hard, and waited. Suddenly a light shined around him, and he was lifted off of the ground. He could feel the Light Eco.
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal
Somebody help me through this nightmare
I can't control myself
Somebody wake me from this nightmare
I can't escape this hell
This animal, this animal
This animal, this animal
This animal, this animal
This animal
So what if you can see the darkest side of me
No one will ever change this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal I have become
Help me believe it's not the real me
Somebody help me tame this animal!
This animal I have become…
