Okay for those of you that dont know what pokemon emerald randomizer is basically its just pokemon emerald, but with a twist. All the pokemon I encounter in the wild as well as my starters are random. To make this even more interesting I decided to make it a Nuzlocke challenge. I will be recording everything and making an LP out of it but ill probably just log the important stuff in this thread, maybe post a video or 2 as well. Anyway since this is a short video please watch and vote for which starter I should choose.

Also I will be nicknaming pokemon after people on this forum so if you want a pokemon named after you please say and tell me if gender matters or not. If it does please say what gender you would prefer sometimes it can be hard to tell

Nuzlocke Rules
  • All pokemon that faint are considered dead and must be moved into a box called death.
  • I may only catch the first pokemon encountered on each area. If it faints or flee's too bad. In adition if iv already caught this pokemon I can catch the second one.
  • All pokemon caught must receive a nickname.
  • A mercy rule shall be in place. My starter will have a held item of a revive. That is the only revive I can use throughtout the whole game, all other revives must be sold.
  • The Nuzlocke will be over when I cant progress any further in the game i.e all my pokemon are dead, I cant surf to the next town, ect.
  • Since this is emerald these Nuzlocke rules dont apply untill I recieve my pokeball's from professa Birch.
  • Shiny pokemon can be caught at anytime.

DON'T CHOOSE REGISTEEL! IT'S A TRAP!

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/R...eveling_up

So, if you choose Registeel, it's an instant Game Over. All it knows is EXPLOSION. I'd chosoe Glalie, it knows Double Team from level 1.

Yeah I was quite dissapointed when I saw that. I guess if Registeel does win the votes ill think of something to play around that but somehow I dont think he will.

That's not possible. Due to how the game works, if both you and the opponent run out of pokemon in the same turn, it counts it as your loss, so you cannot win against Zigzagoon.

Yep your right. I thought I may be able to use the last rule I posted to my advantage but then I remembered you dont gain XP if both pokemon faint

Gyarados. Go with Gyarados. It's intimidate ability is very useful especially in the early part of the game where you mostly see Pokemon with physical attack moves. Also, it's even more useful for like you said, it's ability to learn Surf(and Dive/Waterfall). And I suppose I wouldn't mind having a Pokemon named after me. Especially: Ditto, Eevee, Electrode, Sableye. Those are some of my favorite Pokemon from that gen. Or Slaking if you get one.

Ah, I like Registeel. Too bad it's not a choice. Gyarados is your best choice, like Eon said.
Also, maybe you could use a Slaking with Hyper Beam. 3rd gen had all normal-type moves physical, so it's very powerful.

I really think you should get a Gyarados early on. Once it learns something like Tackle, the opponent's screwed. Gyra has a beastly 125 Attack.... Which means you're dead either way. If not, I'd still use Gyarados. Mainly because it just helps with the game. I had two Pokemon, Combusken and Gyarados for 5 Gyms, with an undefeated record. Once I had my Gyarados learn Thrash with a Heart Scale, I swept through three Gyms.

Just saying.

Oh, and if you catch an Absol, name it Abby!~ But it has to be Female. Or a Beautifly. Eh, name me after anything you want, for all I care. Just make it female, and Abby's the name.

EDIT: This seems quite fun, I'm trying it myself. I've gotten the things downloaded and such, and I'll see what comes of it!

It doesn't learn Tackle as a Gyarados. It learns Thrash at the start, and then Bite at Level 20. Even though Thrash makes your Pokemon confused, it's no trouble during the beginning of the game, since you can KO everything with one hit at the start. By the time it gets actually not easy, you'll probably have learned Bite. ^^

But I voted for Glalie. Big Grin

@ Eon, Unfortunatly I cant control what pokemon I catch as they are all randoms. However if you leave a list of pokemon you like all from the first 3 gen we can work something out. I almost named a Shuckle after you but wasnt sure if you liked Shuckle.

@Absol, Okay will do and thanks posting what gender you would prefer. I found a Mew that I was going to name after you but didnt end up catching it Sad

Okay log starting now

Important Events:

Saved Professa Birch from a crazy Zigzagoon. Had the option of 3 pokemon; Gyarados, Registeel & Glalie. Registeel could only expload, Glalie is kind of creepy and Gyarados is a huge sea Dragon, definly Gyarados.

Went back to Professa Birch's Lab where we offically recived that Gyarados, Nicknamed it Du Toit even though I later found out thats it was a female. I Also spelled Du Toit wrong. I accidently pressed D instead of T. All shall be fixed when we meet the Name Rater

Professa Birch askes us to go and find May to see what it means to be a trainer. Enter Route 101
Events of Route 101:
  • Encounter first wild pokemon which is a Luvdisc. Cant catch it due to not having any pokeballs so we run.
  • Leave Route 101 and enter Oldale Town

Events of Oldale Town:
  • Leave Oldale Town and enter Route 103

Events of Route 103:
  • Run into a wild Electabuzz. We Run
  • Battle Trainer May
Turn 1: May send out Torchic and Stevo Sends out Du Toit. Du Toit Intimidate cuts Torchics attack in half. Gyarados uses Thrash and does around 80% to Torchic. Torchic uses Scratch does 2 damage to Gyarados.
Turn 2: Gyarados uses Thrash, Torchic faints.
Stevo wins the battle and recieved $300 from May.

May says she we will meet us back at the lab so we head back to Littleroot Town
Events of Littleroot Town:
  • Recieve Pokedex from Professa Birch
  • Recived Pokeballs from Trainer May
  • Nuzlocke Rules now apply
  • Took the Revive off Du Toit
  • Recived Running Shoes from Mum
  • Leave Littleroot town and enter route 101

Events of Route 101:
  • Catch a wild Shuckle at level 2, name it MrKyurem
  • Enter Oldale town for the 2nd time

Events of Oldale Town:
  • Heal Pokemon
  • Enter Route 103 for the second time to catch a new pokemon

Events of Route 103:
  • Catch a wild Seaking at level 4, name it Pokemanmdj

Head back to heal pokemon. Decide that I should grind up MrKyurem and Pokemonmdj to at least leve 5 each. Grinding takes place in Route 103
Important Events of Grinding:
  • MrKyurem encounters a wild Regice. Regice uses explosion, Mrkurem lives with 1HP

It's not hard to believe Shuckle can survive an explosion. It's special defense and defense are somewhere in the 200's, making up for it's pitiful attack, special attack, and speed.

But whoo! Name me after a bird Pokemon, and name it Drew, no matter the gender. And pretend it has a little fedora. o3o

And if you catch a Celebi, name it Aura.

Shuckle: HP: crap
Attack: crap
Sp.A: crap
Def/Sp.D: ...oh my god! 260!? Shuck yeah!
Shuckle is best bug troll.
And with Bug/Rock typing, he only takes normal damage from fighting and ground unlike most rock types. Only takes normal damage from flying, and I think he takes normal damage from fire. Weaknesses: Water, Steel, Fire?, one of the best things you could have found really. Especially combined with Gyarados.

I imagine catching a Mew, or any legendary for that matter this early on, would be kinda difficult. You have only Pokeballs and soon enough Greatballs, and the catch rate is low. You'd have to be lucky.
