RE: Competitive Team
It depends on what you want the theme of your team to be.
Well rounded
rain
sun
sand
trick room
stall
Sweeper
ETC

Although i recommend Salamence for all of them short of trick room since he can shore up weaknesses and Dominate in one convenient package. Smile

RE: Competitive Team
Okay, so I have a Salamence. What others do you recommend? I usually like either sun/rain/stall teams. I have two Groudon (Drought) and access to two Latios as well as Rayquaza. I was going to go breed a perfect IV Blazikien, so would that be a good choice for a sun team with Salamence and Groudon?

RE: Competitive Team
What tier are you planning on playing (OU, UU, Ubers ect). Anyway you could make a decent rain team if you have drizzle politoad, if not i can maby trade you one. Also id use Dragonite over Mence because in most cases he out classes him (especially in rain).

RE: Competitive Team
What are you talking about? my Jolly mence (totally underused even though he can not only OHKO any dragon, but also destroy some "counters" to dragons since he out speeds them.) Or my Special Mence to throw off Teams who expect a Physical mence, But yes as far as a rain team goes Dragonite is better due to Thunder/Hurricane, but in any other case intimidate will save you more then a gimmicky ability like multiscale. (Since entry damage or Fake out negates it, and quite a few ice/rock/dragon moves will KO through Multiscale)

Special mence (sun)
Timid/modest
Item: Choice Specs/Life orb (both improve power but Orb alows Diversity while specs Allow it to OHKO more Pokemon)
EVs for SpAtk and Spd
Ability: Intimidate(Moxie is great but intimidate shuts down a few potential OHKOs)
Moves:
1.Draco meteor/Dragon Pulse
Draco is good for when Hes gonna get KOed and you want him to score an extra Kill. Pulse is strong and has no downsides other then not OHKOing Certain Pokemon like Draco.
2.Hydro Pump
Dragon/Water has almost perfect coverage and Hydro pump hurts alot When your Opponent changes the weather on you(This move is mostly for Sandstorm teams, since even with the SpDef boost it will OHKO most Rock or Ground pokemon, but it can still hit some rain teams Support pokemon That arent Water type if rain is up for huge damage)
3.Fire blast
Hits like A Train in the Sun and the burn chance is nice
4.Hidden power Grass
Will Destroy Gastrodon and can finish weakened Milotic.(Water teams are your biggest threat so a Grass move is Necessary.)

Keep in mind that Blaziken and Groudon are both ubers, so if you want to do OU (OU is more fun since there is more diversity in pokemon) then Nine-tails replaces Groudon nicely and Ferrothorn is an unconventional Sun Team Pokemon that shuts down Rain Teams (Ferrothorn Will die from any fire attack anyway So the sun really doesn't matter.)

Max attack, naive nature (standerd DD set) can never OHKO Offensiev DD Dragonite, and only does a max of 83% to bulky DD Dragonite wile even a bulky DD Dragon claw with no boosts has a 62% chance to OHKO. Also Multiscale isnt 'Gimmiky' since Dragonite learns roost. Dragonite has a way better move pool to. The only time i ever use Mence over Dnite is with a choice scarf or mixed.

RE: Competitive Team
***(This is a recommendation for your team)***
My Jolly Mence's moves (Can be used with Adamant for more power at the cost of being outsped and OHKO-ed by at least 12 pokemon)
Item: Life orb(Better if you dont have a baton passer)
Choice band(better with a baton passer since even steel types will think twice about switching in on a Banded/Swords danced Outrage)

Outrage(Kills ANY dragon and has enough UMPH to OHKO lots of pokemon in OU, I've seen 1 Dragonite survive a hit but that was only because of his focus sash so I cant Agree with you on the power of it*unless you were talking about Dragon-claw doing the 83% damage, then I apologize for the misunderstanding*)

Fire fang(Better than Fire blast on a physical mence since jolly lowers SpAtk, and Baton passing Swords dance/Dragon Dance lets him OHKO a few select Pokemon without relying on Outrage)

Stone edge(since Salamence will inevitably draw ice/Dragon*most dragons are still weak to Edge because of their second type* types in, this will OHKO all of them without exception for ice and with few exceptions on dragons since ice types aren't exactly the Bulkiest pokemon and most flying dragons focus on power over bulk)

Earth-Quake(EdgeQuake Works quite well even if he doesn't get STAB, and it hits the rare fire/steel/electric type stupi...brave enough to challenge Salamence's Power) Smile

I dont use Dragon Dance Since most anyone that sees a mence thinks thats what its rocking. and its nature coupled with its good speed lets it out-speed any dragon/Ice type that's not scarfed (Except for the rare Weavile or Ice shard user*Im looking at you Mamoswine*)

RE: Competitive Team
No it was Outrage and i factored in life orb. I tried taking a screen shot but it wouldnt work. Basically if Dragonite is at full HP with multiscale no Salamence will kill him with an outrage (unless its Adamant outrage and offensive Dnite).
Anyway this isnt the place to debate whos better but if want to feel free to PM me.

Ill suggest a few members for a team when Absol decides what she wants her team to be. It doesnt have to be rain it could simply be a standerd OU team or even NU.

RE: Competitive Team
Mew can be trained, his EVs will automatically update his stats. I solo'd the Elite 4 on Black with my DW Arceus and he gained a HP point after he finished.

RE: Competitive Team
Hmm. I do apologize. I Checked and my Adamant-mence is in my team now. (I switch between 3 different ones)

Anyway. back to the team building.

Heres a list of the Decent pokemon (that I've seen used well) on a sun team.
Salamence(I may be a bit Biased but He has amazing coverage and can hit almost everything for great damage and OHKOs*Adamant/modest mence* many of suns rivals)
Ninetails(great for any sun team due to perma-sun and decent stats, but is banned with a few key Sun team abilities)
Arcanine(Him, Salamence, Dragonite, and Gliscor Really take the same role so you only need one. Arcanine Has Extreme speed for priority whereas Salamence gives the team some resistances that most sun teams seem to lack.)
Ferrothorn/Foretress(Same role and both dont care about the sun but can be great "fire bait" and supporters when the opponent has no fire moves)
Venosaur(in the sun hes a monster*even more-so with with growth)
Gliscor(Another underrated sun team candidate, he may not use the sun as much as your other pokemon but like Salamence he gives some Resistances while providing you with a reliable status blocker/set up pokemon)
Volcarona(this moth is a beast in the sun with Fiery dance/Fire blast. and I like to carry Hurricane just to mess with rain teams.)
Sawsbuck(works like a dream due to an exclusive move that negates life orb recoil and has a great move-pool, PS after a SD he can OHKO Blissey/Slowbro)
Scizor(Like Ferro/Foret he doesnt care about the sun since any fire move will OHKO him anyway. However he ears a spot since he does hard counter Ttar and Terrakion who would other wise destroy most *if not all* sun teams.)
Tangrowth(Is slower then Venosaur but is bulkier and has its own perks over Venosaur)
Shiftry(Gives your team a dark pokemon to hit the lati-siblings and has good enough stats to fend for itself)
Victreebel(at first glance he is overshadowed by Venosaur, but after a look at his move set you see that he has access to weather ball, what this means that he has the strongest fire move for ANY Chlorophyll user)
Exeguttor(By far *seemingly* outclassed, but he will not only rip apart Fighting types but also perform well in other situations)
Lilligant(Has Quiver dance, that is all. Tongue)
Darmanitan(hits like a truck, but trades its speed to do so)
Charizard(Don't be fooled by its 4x rock weakness since as long as you have a decent spinner and play him to his advantages Solarpower+STAB+sun=Ouch*or OHKO, take your pick*)
Rotom-H(This pokemon acts as punishment for opposing rain teams with Thunder and can abuse the sun in its own right)
Dragonite(Hes bulkier * 4 less HP, but 15 more Def, and 20 more SpDef* then Mence but trades power *1 point in Atk and 10 in SpAtk* and speed *20 points* for it)
Mamoswine(Doesn't benefit from the sun in any way, but what it does do is ROFL-Stomp sun teams biggest non weather threat, Dragons.)

I know there's more good Pokemon,Some of these are banned together, and these are form mixed tiers, but this will give you a good look at what a sun team is and isn't.

Rain team(will be alot smaller then the sun team since ive only made 2 rain teams before)

Salamence(I know hes SEVERELY out classed by Dragonite for rain teams but my stubbornness means he gets a spot)
Politoed(Same role as Ninetails on a sun team)
Dragonite(Abuses the weather *Thunder/Hurricane*while still taking hits quite well)
Crobat(good lead in tournaments *8 turn rain anyone?*since drizzle is banned with SS)
Bronzong(same as Crobat but trades speed for Defense)
Jirachi(abuses the rain as much as Dragonite but thunder/water pulse have a 60% chance of using their respective Secondary effect)
Kingdra(Im sure you've heard the stories or faced one yourself, this dragon is not to be taken lightly)
Ludicolo(never used one but i hear they work)
Kabutops(I love how this guy can still shut down sun teams...IN THE SUN.)
Gorebyss( Never used him but I can see how Shell smash passing to a sweeper would be terrifying)
Cloyster( like Gorebyss but uses its Smashing rather than passing it with its skill linked Icicle spear. Kekekekeke)
Scizor(loves the rain because it can survive a few fire moves now, cover some choice pokemon, and if you don't want Kabutops the add some form of priority)
Rotom-W(never used him but electric types are always welcome on a rain team)
Starmie(Another one ive never used much, but it does its Job as a spinner and the also covers the role of a sweeper)
Empoleon(An unexpected wall that will Destroy the dreaded Grass types)
Zapdos(has a few Key Resistances while Loving the rain)
Toxicroak(Dry-skin is better than Storm drain in my opinion)
Milotic(Walls well and is a great Rest/talker)
Hitmontop(Typical spinner, but don't under estimate him or you might end up with a Technician/STAB boosted low sweep to the head)

Take a look and see what suits you best. Smile

RE: Competitive Team
Thanks guys! I don't have a Jirachi, so I'll see what I can do. I will probably build a sun team AND a rain team to see how it works! Thanks a bunch!
