Hmm. I do apologize. I Checked and my Adamant-mence is in my team now. (I switch between 3 different ones)
Anyway. back to the team building.
Heres a list of the Decent pokemon (that I've seen used well) on a sun team.
Salamence(I may be a bit Biased but He has amazing coverage and can hit almost everything for great damage and OHKOs*Adamant/modest mence* many of suns rivals)
Ninetails(great for any sun team due to perma-sun and decent stats, but is banned with a few key Sun team abilities)
Arcanine(Him, Salamence, Dragonite, and Gliscor Really take the same role so you only need one. Arcanine Has Extreme speed for priority whereas Salamence gives the team some resistances that most sun teams seem to lack.)
Ferrothorn/Foretress(Same role and both dont care about the sun but can be great "fire bait" and supporters when the opponent has no fire moves)
Venosaur(in the sun hes a monster*even more-so with with growth)
Gliscor(Another underrated sun team candidate, he may not use the sun as much as your other pokemon but like Salamence he gives some Resistances while providing you with a reliable status blocker/set up pokemon)
Volcarona(this moth is a beast in the sun with Fiery dance/Fire blast. and I like to carry Hurricane just to mess with rain teams.)
Sawsbuck(works like a dream due to an exclusive move that negates life orb recoil and has a great move-pool, PS after a SD he can OHKO Blissey/Slowbro)
Scizor(Like Ferro/Foret he doesnt care about the sun since any fire move will OHKO him anyway. However he ears a spot since he does hard counter Ttar and Terrakion who would other wise destroy most *if not all* sun teams.)
Tangrowth(Is slower then Venosaur but is bulkier and has its own perks over Venosaur)
Shiftry(Gives your team a dark pokemon to hit the lati-siblings and has good enough stats to fend for itself)
Victreebel(at first glance he is overshadowed by Venosaur, but after a look at his move set you see that he has access to weather ball, what this means that he has the strongest fire move for ANY Chlorophyll user)
Exeguttor(By far *seemingly* outclassed, but he will not only rip apart Fighting types but also perform well in other situations)
Lilligant(Has Quiver dance, that is all.

)
Darmanitan(hits like a truck, but trades its speed to do so)
Charizard(Don't be fooled by its 4x rock weakness since as long as you have a decent spinner and play him to his advantages Solarpower+STAB+sun=Ouch*or OHKO, take your pick*)
Rotom-H(This pokemon acts as punishment for opposing rain teams with Thunder and can abuse the sun in its own right)
Dragonite(Hes bulkier * 4 less HP, but 15 more Def, and 20 more SpDef* then Mence but trades power *1 point in Atk and 10 in SpAtk* and speed *20 points* for it)
Mamoswine(Doesn't benefit from the sun in any way, but what it does do is ROFL-Stomp sun teams biggest non weather threat, Dragons.)
I know there's more good Pokemon,Some of these are banned together, and these are form mixed tiers, but this will give you a good look at what a sun team is and isn't.
Rain team(will be alot smaller then the sun team since ive only made 2 rain teams before)
Salamence(I know hes SEVERELY out classed by Dragonite for rain teams but my stubbornness means he gets a spot)
Politoed(Same role as Ninetails on a sun team)
Dragonite(Abuses the weather *Thunder/Hurricane*while still taking hits quite well)
Crobat(good lead in tournaments *8 turn rain anyone?*since drizzle is banned with SS)
Bronzong(same as Crobat but trades speed for Defense)
Jirachi(abuses the rain as much as Dragonite but thunder/water pulse have a 60% chance of using their respective Secondary effect)
Kingdra(Im sure you've heard the stories or faced one yourself, this dragon is not to be taken lightly)
Ludicolo(never used one but i hear they work)
Kabutops(I love how this guy can still shut down sun teams...IN THE SUN.)
Gorebyss( Never used him but I can see how Shell smash passing to a sweeper would be terrifying)
Cloyster( like Gorebyss but uses its Smashing rather than passing it with its skill linked Icicle spear. Kekekekeke)
Scizor(loves the rain because it can survive a few fire moves now, cover some choice pokemon, and if you don't want Kabutops the add some form of priority)
Rotom-W(never used him but electric types are always welcome on a rain team)
Starmie(Another one ive never used much, but it does its Job as a spinner and the also covers the role of a sweeper)
Empoleon(An unexpected wall that will Destroy the dreaded Grass types)
Zapdos(has a few Key Resistances while Loving the rain)
Toxicroak(Dry-skin is better than Storm drain in my opinion)
Milotic(Walls well and is a great Rest/talker)
Hitmontop(Typical spinner, but don't under estimate him or you might end up with a Technician/STAB boosted low sweep to the head)
Take a look and see what suits you best.
