Drizzly team [update!!!]
hi guys i just want ur agreement with my rain dance team.
here it is

Hitmontop@fighting gem@intimidate (plus its adamant i got lucky for putting evs in it and having the same attack and defense) lv. 50
fake out
close combat
rapid spin
mach punch
around 100 defense, 13 attack, 252 speed

i just made this dude and i got a adamant one and i was lucky to make it and adamant hitmontop, i use wings and some medicine and to make it balance its attack and defense

kingdra@expert belt@Swift swim
ice beam
waterfall
dragon dance
protect
252 attack/ 252 speed/ 4 sp def

Zephyr you were right Swift swim boost gets kingdra to sweep dragon types before a dragon type could attack first. +i put up waterfall cuz of high attack

Zapdos@leftovers@modest
Thunderbolt
Heatwave
roost
substitute

Zapdos gets speed power from tailwind from whimsi-cute so sub+sweeper+roost=assasin

Whimsicott@leftovers@Prankster
Hurricane
Tailwind
Leech seed
encore
252 hp/ 252 speed/ 4 def

same whimsicott with encore. taunted whimsicott is like a lvl 1 magikarp u have a point zeph

Ludicolo@big root@swift swim
surf
ice beam
Giga drain
leech seed
252 sp attack/ 252 speed/ 4 sp def

not bad another swift user of mine

Politoad@wacan berry@Drizzle
surf
Ice beam
Focus blast
earthquake
252 sp attack/ 252 speed/ 4 hp

wacan berry weakens thunder types which i mostly see in double battles

Bronzong (tournament only)@leftovers@leftovers or heatproof
rain dance
Stealth rock
earthquake
gyro ball
252 defense/ 252 sp defense/ 4 hp

a trick room bronzong is lame cuz most of my pokemon are fast. bronzong would be a big tanker of mine.
rain dance+heatproof= makes fire types look like magikarp

~Strategy~
Double:
~in progress~

Single:

RE: Drizzly team
In doubles your team has decent synergy. but a few pokemon don't work very well together, as they are/at all.

Smeargle is worthless if both opponents Attack it, because its stats are ridiculously low. Even with a sash it will most likely die the first turn anyway.

Kingdra is quite good with Drizzle support but im curious to know why you
1. Have two Special Attacks with a physical set. (Waterfall would be great for replacing hydro pump with. and with outrage he has great coverage.) A mixed st doesn't hit as hard as it needs to in doubles.
or
2. Have 252 in Attack with a SpAtk setup. As long as your in the rain, Dragon dance isn't worth it cause you will already be fast and the Attack boost is useless. If you want to get some boosts for Ludicolo an absorb bulb is a good combo with a surf from Kingdra. the power loss from Hydro pump hurts, but the accuracy boost is nice.

Floatzel. Im quite confused as to why you
1. have dig at all. dig sucks in singles and doubles, but in doubles its even more so.(especially with a SpAtk set up, but i will state that Floatzel isnt much of a threat with SpAtks)
2.Have razor wind at all. Its a crappy move that is Special, low power, (For Floatzel) and Most notably Two turn.
and 3. have quick attack at all. Floatzel is extremely fast so its not always needed, and Aqua jet gets stab.

Whimsicott. giga drain is better then mega drain, and Why isn't encore here? its awesome for a team almost unanimously weak to a few select moves, because it can catch an enemy with an in-opourtune move and force them to repeat it long enough to KO them or at least set up.

Ludicolo Is usable as it is but an absorb bulb would let it set up without trying.

Politoed. Mystic water doesn't provide a very big boost and its only for one move. scald is nice for the potential to cripple physical attackers, but surf lets him help Ludicolo set up. lastly Earthquake is a physical move so it wont hit very hard. the last slot should be used by either Hidden Power grass or hypnosis. HP grass will let him do some damage to
Opponents water types whereas hypnosis can win the match for you(if it hits)

This team relies on rain so an electric pokemon or a weather changer can almost shut down your entire team. Im thinking Toxicroak is your biggest problem, because he can heal himself with water and strait up Destroy Ludicolo.
what your team needs is some variety. You might want to replace a few of your Guys for some coverage/Resistances. I don't know if you want suggestions but here are a few anyway. Smile

Zapdos(STAB thunder + rain = pain.)

Bronzong (very bulky and has no weaknesses in the rain. He can set up and even KO a few pokemon)

Scizor. (Can survive many common fire hits in the rain while still hitting hard)

Lanturn (still a water type but isnt afraid of electric moves and can abuse thunder's perfect accuracy in the rain)

Hitmontop (can help you set up cause hes BETTER then Smeargle)

Ferrothorn. (he abuses his new found freedom because few fire types will switch in if he has a water partner, and the rain weakens random fire moves.)

The team is illegal anyways. SS is banned with Drizzle.

RE: Drizzly team
Its fine if he just wants to play online match-up. (Its only illegal if he wants to do tournaments, and that can be solved by using Bronzong to set up rain instead of Politoed) Most people don't really care what Smogon says when they play online, we play to win. ;P

RE: Drizzly team
This team can't compete in online matchup because it has no OHKO moves. It doesn't have a counter for moody and can't break a defensive amoonguss + Slowbro core. Also Double team wrecks it.

If you break the rules, you don't win. That's like playing monopoly but getting unlimited loans for yourself and saying "Screw the rules, I get cash money all day. Makin it rain."

Pretty much everyone cares what smogon says, as they provide a educated rule based system of playing competitively. Smogon isn't just one person. It's the largest competitive community.

RE: Drizzly team
Smeargle doesn't really have good stats, so I believe that he should be removed. Also, isn't this kind of my rain team that i posted? You can copy that anyways, since it's not technically mine (The team I posted was from a guy named Brendan Zheng that used it to beat the Junior Championships. If you guys want good Champion teams, search up Pokemon.com and click on the Video Games section and search for the CHampion Teams). There are many nice double battle strategies (About 6 team so far, I think) and there's even a sandstorm one. I used the Sandstorm team and got a 7 out of 7 stars in the battle institude. Brendan's team is set up for any encounter, since I haven't lost with it yet.

RE: Drizzly team
I do see your point, but this is a doubles team so quite a few of those broken rules work fine.

1. Either Zapdos or Lanturn could shut Slowbro down. (Thunder in the rain hurts, even for walls)

2. Scizor will destroy Amoongus every time with team support. (in doubles)

3. moody pokemon don't work as well in doubles as they do in singles. due to the fact that subs don't work well in doubles (when you have 2 pokemon pounding it they cant take it and get overwhelmed before they can get many boosts.)

4. OHKO moves are way too inaccurate to work well. (its almost like wasting a turn, most people don't use them out of common sense rather then rules)

5. for competitions its easy enough to replace Politoed

RE: Drizzly team
I'll admit you have your points. But I stand by my guns. If you think a ferrothorn is a viable candidate for doubles, then moody pokemon must also be viable.

Also double team sheer cold Suicune is not to be underestimated.

Amoongus eats thunders and ice beams from zapdos/lanturn.

RE: Drizzly team
Ferrothorn's defenses can stand up to a dual onslaught as long as he has leech seed up, whereas a moody pokemon cant (especially if you hit their weakness, compared to Ferrothorn who can do well in the rain because of its ability to survive a fire attack while its teammate KOs the threat)

im not saying OHKO moves are useless.(and yes Double team Suicune is nice but Thunder+rain=dead Suicune) im just saying that they aren't as awesome as the OHKO title says they are. It doesn't matter what pokemon it is, you shouldn't underestimate any pokemon. (except for Magikarp, I guess its fine to underestimate them.)

Lastly Amoongus will die to Scizor because he can bring it down to yellow(a lucky crit. will KO it.) and the ice beam he can "eat" will finish him.

RE: Drizzly team
Do the calc, Amoongus takes a lanturn's ice beam almost ridiculously well, and can stall it out with giga drain.

And all you need to do to counter thunder is switch to a resist.

Also rain does not negate a weakness to fire, like ferrothorn. Any pokemon that has fire blast will cause Ferrothorn to switch out even in the rain.

RE: Drizzly team
that's the beauty of doubles. you don't have to rely on a single pokemon to fight. if your weak to something then your team can help fill the gap.

Yes Lanturn's ice beam isn't exactly Over Powered and Amoongus will out-stall a Lanturn, but it wont out-stall a Lanturn and a Scizor or even a Scizor and a Ludicolo. If Amoongus is supported well, then the rain team will take casualties but the person who has the better team will win. (in doubles its more about working well together then having raw power) The rain team could win or lose, but you can be sure they will fight for the victory quite well.

I really don't mean to be rude, (just prove a point) you say that your pokemon can switch out to resist an attack without thinking that the opponent will do the same thing, and with rain up they will be faster then you.(except for trick room users, they will be a challenge for almost any rain team)

I admit Ferrothorn wont eat a fire blast, even in the rain. but in doubles your more likely to see a flame burst (i see this move everywhere) or a fire fang(from non fire pokemon), and he will most likely take it (grudgingly) with a yellow or red hp bar but he will survive the turn. and in the rain his teammate might be able to KO the fire user. (Rain does weaken fire moves power)

*EDIT* Im sorry for turning your rate my team thread into a debate. Tongue

RE: Drizzly team
how bout posting what their moves are. From the looks of your team, its more balanced now, but their move-sets are just as important.

And in the Chance you do try a tournament, switching Bronzong for Politoed would be good. he can set up rain while tanking just about everything. (just make sure your teammate poses an offensive threat or he will be complete setup bait.)

Ferrothorn > Whimsicott.

You still have a dragon weakness that you didn't cover. And not being able to take a latios in this metagame is a big deal.

RE: Drizzly team
we wont know how dragon proof the team is til he gives up a move-set, since a swift swim Kingdra will ice beam most dragons, and Whimsicott isn't a wall like Ferrothorn is. (So if you wanted a wall look at Ferrothorn)
In this team my cute little whimsi-pooh looks like it will take on a supporting prankster role such as using rain to boost Hurricane (cause a taunted Whimsicott without any attacks is as good as a live Magikarp), and maybe light screen and encore to Abuse Prankster.

No but giving Dragon type neutral coverage on an entire team is actually team breaking.

RE: Drizzly team [update!!!]
ok let the people who think im wrong tell me what they think, so Come at be Bro. Smile

Hitmontop. If your using it as an Attacker/spinner, it will work decently. But if you wanted a revenge killer/ Spinner (i noticed you don't have one) then Technician is better since he can learn Fake out, mach punch, and bullet punch to kill weakened pokemon while still being able to Spin.

Kingdra. It looks like Ice beam is for Dragons/Gliscor exclusively because he wont be able to hit much else very hard with it. You will want it, but try replacing protect with outrage since Water/ Dragon has great coverage (Ferrothorn Will wall you every time though) the down side is the move lock and not being able to choose your vict...target, but after a dance or two even steel types wont want to get hit with an outrage. The loss of protect isn't the biggest deal for him since he gains the strongest physical dragon move.

Zapdos. Id strongly consider using thunder over thunderbolt since the perfect accuracy in the rain means he can abuse it more the the bolt version. the rest looks good.

Whimsicott. looks good, its a mirror of mine other then hurricane since i use him with Sunny day+Solar beam.(i don't use him on my rain team so hurricanes accuracy isn't good on my team)

Ludicolo. I see the use of the big root, so if you want a staller then fine, but with the EV set you have the Absorb bulb is a better option since a friendly surf is 4X resisted. instead of Leech seed try rain dance, even with Drizzle, resetting the rain in case of sand storm or sunny day is a must.

Politoed. unless Ludicolo has an absorb bulb i cant see any reason to have surf over scald (the power doesn't matter as much as the potential to destroy Physical attackers.) and Why is earthquake still on Politoed. with out any EVs into attack even my Heatran (4X weak to ground) will survive with more then half HP and then it will destroy your Politoed with Hidden Power grass. You might want to try a move he can actually use well.

Bronzong. Try levitate over heatproof since he gets fire resistance in the rain anyway. (he has no weaknesses in the rain with levitate) the rock that lengthens the duration of rain dance would be better as his held item since your team loves the rain. the loss of the leftovers will hurt but the rain is more useful.

All around your team looks much better then when you first showed it to us. Tongue
