Have an idea for a PokeBoard Project? Think you can run one better than I am?

If you have an idea for a PokeBoard Project feel free to contact me via pm or post below. Please include details of the project and whether or not you want to run it as well. Also, if you think you can run one of the current projects better than I currently am, you can also let me know and include why you think you can do it better/what you would change.

I would like to run a "festival" here at Pokeboard. Just a fun little festival; we'll have like a scavenger hunt, ultimate sprite contest (Make the most biggest or tough-looking sprite), ect. PokeBoard "Events" is something I am actually working on- forum festival kinda things we can have every so often (maybe once a season- spring, summer, fall, winter). It will include contests among other things, so you can run an art one if you want.

Okay, that's fine with me. And I have a question related to the magazine; when exactly will we have our own private sub-forum for us magazine workers? We already got issue 2 done, and we're soon to work on issue 3.

That'd be cool. And we could earn Pokedollars if we compete in and or win in a contest. I think it's a great idea.

How about we have a signature of the week contest? I'm not sure how many people actually make graphics here, but it could encourage activity in the graphics section.

Basically, what would happen is every week, a submissions and voting thread will be made. Submissions thread is open for like, 3 or 4 days, then when the deadline has been reached, that thread is closed, and then the voting thread is created, and that's where all the members for this site are allowed to vote for their favourite sigs to win.
There could be prizez for the top 3 artists, such as PokeDollars, maybe?

Of course there are rules people must follow to ensure that they haven't just stole someone else's signature and tried to pass it off as their own.

Idk, maybe I haven't elaborated enough, but I think I've provided sufficient information to help people gather the jist of it. xD
What do you guys think? Also, I'm not too bothered about who oversees it - I can if no one else is willing. =P

We already have this. But we don't do it every week, we usually do it every other 2 weeks.

I was thinking maybe a graphics exclusive contest, considering I (can't speak for everyone else, lol) for one find it incredibly hard to compare hand drawn artwork to that of computer based graphics.
Idk, maybe I'm just being picky.

Well. For our official art contest; we mix it up for every contest we do. This month's art contest was just random. But for the next art contest, we could have it to where it's only graphics, or only drawings. Or a certain theme.

I like the idea of it being themed. I'm not sure how much attention each contest would garner if we were to split it into two separate contests, but there's another idea.
Is the current contest still open for submissions by the way? ;o I'm kinda angry faec that I never saw it xD

Oh no, the deadline to submit your entries were on July 12th, I believe. So don't worry, next art contest will be in a week or so.

Wait can we post ideas for the forum or only projects?

This seems to be the only suggestion place in the forum, so, if I've posted it in the wrong place, feel free to direct me where to put this.

How about a forum ASB?

tl;dr version: ASB means Animé Style Battling. Where it's collecting and battling Pokémon over a forum, but rather than just 'Use Thunder,' the directions you give are more like 'Use thunder to break up the rocks, making them land on Poliwag.' It would be made up of several forums, to house each set of information, such as ASB general, ASB sign ups and Trainer issues, ASB battles and business area, etc.

Basics:

The Animé Style Battling is, basically, battling Pokémon, but like in the Animé. One would sign up with a team of Pokémon and, when approved, dive into the battling world where two or members of the forum would battle it out with each other while a referee dictates what happens and what damage is caused. We could incorporate the forum's Pokédollars idea into it where the winner(s) and ref win Poké dollars for the battle. With a forum that is big on Role Playing (or so Arcanine tells me), I'd assume it would be big here. If you need me to go into more detail, I will, but this is the briefest description I could give.

I'd be willing to help with the running of it, as I'm sure Xintendation and other RP-centred members of the forum would too.

I shall have too support Aerobractles suggestion about ASB.

We have had an attempt at bringing ASB to the forums but we got through one round and then the commentator/judge didn't post what happened for the second round. It would be very good to have another push for ASB here on PokeBoard.

im new but i smart when it comes to pokemon games, make this site have something that the others dont

Well one, being unique in such a well known topic is rather difficult. Two, how about actually suggesting something that will make us unique.

I was thinking maybe we should have user groups that can be custom made. Such as a "Houndoom Lovers Club" or "Those that like Flying Society" or something like that.
