CHAPTER ONE- Death Attendance
I joined a training ground for Pokemon that was being managed by a Pokemon Sensei, that really had some experience in Pokemon Rescuing, so that I can be part in a rescue team with Razau as soon as I master all of my moves. I'm a male Tsutarja named Hikaru, and I'm with my friend, a Riolu named Razau. Razau's also male like me. He's friendly by being always there for me. He's too nice if I were to judge him by the way he acts. He really likes Rawst berries while on the other hand, I'm the opposite. I hate to taste bitter-tasting berries. Anyway, sadly when I got to meet him back then, he was living alone. Wait a minute! I haven't told you how I met him.
Well it was back 3 months ago...
I was kind of walking on a street leading to a forest. Well the reason is that I was about to go home. I consider the forest my home, even though I didn't particularly live in a habitat like caves or trees or the likes. I don't stay much in the forest, that's why I don't build myself a nest. Even if I do make one, I would fail in making it neat and tidy at all times. Going back to the story, after taking my first step off the concrete road, I felt a little raindrop. Looking up to the dark sky, I predict that it was going to rain heavily. I ran into the forest as the raindrops progressively drops faster, making me more wet. I looked to the left and to the right, trying to find a place to prevent me to getting more wet. A few minutes of running, I saw a tree with a hole that appeared to be vacant. I ran towards the tree as fast as I can and as I arrive to it, I quickly climbed up and hid inside the tiny tree hole. I squirmed as I go inside of it. When I did, I was a little scared. I was a little claustrophobic. Not considering my fear, I just stayed inside of it, even if my back is killing me. I curled up, and it wasn't easy, but it was more comfortable than the previous position I was in. Slowly dozing off, I fell asleep by accident.
The rain subsided after a few hours. The Sun was brightly shining, along with a wide ray of rainbow. I got irritated of the bright light and decided to squirm my way out. Totally forgetting that I was in a high place, I fell as I freed myself from that tiny hole. I landed chin first and the pain really made me wide awake and held my chin as soon as I stood up. Luckily, there's no scratches or something, it was just a pain I felt after a fall. I opened my eyes and finally, the Sun is boasting it's vivid light, along with a rainbow that can really make your eyes glued to it because of it's beauty. After some sleeping problems and my ‘‘horrid’‘ accident, I looked around if I could see any berries around. Scanning the area, I saw a tree with a blue berry on it. I walked up to the tree, climbed up, and get at least five pieces, as long as I remembered.
‘‘Finally, something to eat!’‘ I said with joy. I took a bite of it and kind of squinced. It was really that bitter, and I don't like bitter things like I said. Turns out it was a Rawst Berry, I completely mistook it's appearance for some other berry. Since I didn't have any use for these anymore, I planned to just leave it lying on the ground. I was going to leave it, until I heard something moving, some kind of small footstep sound. Not wanting anyone to saw me litter, I hid around a nearby bush and locked on my eyes to the direction where I think the sound was coming from. I see he's coming near, the shadow was beginning to gain height. Then I saw him, he was a Riolu. Apparently, he was interested in those Rawst Berry I left over there. I don't want him seeing me here so I slowly tiptoed away. When I was walking away, I stepped on a branch and broke it, making a snap noise. He heard it, his aura sensor thingy flicked. I could be going down to a battle here, better to say sorry for spying on him before any more things happen. He asked as he face the bush I was previously in,
‘‘Who's there?’‘ I really had no choice, I came out of the bush, looking like a Snivy that was left on a clothesline or something. ‘
‘ Don't be mad, sorry if I was spying on you.’‘ I said while I offer my hand to him for a handshake. He didn't really looked mad, but just in case, I just said it. You know how timid I can be when it comes to these situations. He replied,
‘‘ Don't worry, I am not mad...’‘ while he extended his paw and did a handshake,
"... but I think you look like a mess there, buddy.’‘ he said after releasing his grip on me, leaving his paw with some dirt and a little sloppy. Sighing of relief and a little angry since he complimented my look, also a little confused that he said ‘‘...buddy.’‘ when we really didn't met yet, I just shrugged it off. I mean, this could be a perfect opportunity to live with someone. I want the lonely feeling from me away. I started a conversation with him, I said, ‘
‘Hi there! I'm Hikaru. I'm a Tsutarja.’‘ ‘‘How about you?’‘ I asked.
‘‘ I'm Razau! I'm a Riolu! Nice to meet you!’‘ he said while he showed a bright smile on his face. His happiness affected me a little, it's like his happiness is an airborne disease or something. I feel a lot better and I think I just wanted to jump of joy just meeting someone new in these part of the forest.
‘‘Nice to meet you too!’‘ was the only reply I could think and I indeed replied him back with that. He said,
‘‘Hey buddy, if you don't have any place to stay, why not go to my place and do so?’‘ he requested.
‘‘R-Really?!’‘ I started to wag my tail. It's like, the most nice thing a person can do to me in my entire life. ‘
‘Yeah! I'm a bit lonely too, and I wanted someone to stay with me and you could really get some help. You're currently homeless, am I right?’‘ Razau asked.
‘‘Well unluckily, I am.’‘ I stopped to wag my tail and looked down. He placed his arm around my waist and pulled me towards him,
‘‘Don't worry Hikaru, I'm sure that my hut would be a good place for you to stay for a while!’‘ he exclaimed. I suddenly thinking deep, is this really the thing I really asked for for quite some time now? I mean, hello! This might be my only chance to get a good home with a good friend! I said,
‘ Oh what the heck, Sure!’‘ I replied fast. He hopped happily as I said that,
‘‘Great!’‘ he was giggling. What more could I say? I just went along and hugged him as we both happily hop and I said,
‘‘Thanks!’‘ I couldn't hold my smile, so I really let out a big one and started giggling also. We sound like children getting a new toy or something that makes children squeal out of happiness. We stopped, and he said,
‘‘Well, we could go there now I mean, you must be really hungry I guess?’‘ He asked.
‘‘Well umm...’‘ then my growling stomach interrupted. He chuckled,
‘‘I guess you are! Well then, let's go!’‘ he grabbed my hand and ran off with it, dragging me along. We were giggling as we went to his house and there, that's how we met.
Now, something about the training grounds we were in. We’re forty in the batch. Our masters change from time to time. They’re like trained to the extreme; they’re all in their top-notched potentials. The true leader of the group was a Swampert named Juraru. Now he’s the real deal! Mostly he handles the class on wet conditions. Oh, and another Sensei, he’s a Grovyle named Sirzuki. He is the new one, but I have doubts letting someone as, let’s say ‘’not yet fully evolved Pokemon`` to handle the whole class. Maybe he just made him lead the exploring or some kind of field trip activities since he’s pretty well-adapted at forests.
Sometimes, I skip the class and do something else. I mean, come on. I need some break though we were given at least each 4 weeks, but I think I’m really overworked. Unlike Razau, he’s really been trained, he wasn’t even tired even at rigorous workout. You know what? I think he’ll make a good Lucario someday when he evolves. A true fighting spirit, I like that. He’s always present, at every end of the 4 weeks, he always gets a ‘Perfect Attendance Award’. He deserves it. He worked really hard each day, even overworking himself if he must. He has a lot of friends, even the Sensei! I only have like, 6 friends including him. Their Suba, Tsu, Kuro, Strike, and Kim. They’re Eevee brothers (I say, their mom is successful! ) and they dream to be different Eevee’s someday. Of course, the remaining was Razau.
One day, we had a trip to a faraway forest. Of course, Grovyle was in charge of all of us. We lined up, each divided into 2, meaning that each line has 20 Pokemon. It was just a normal getaway to the stress we’re experiencing from the training, and the training ground was messed up after a classmate caused little trouble in handling an Earthquake attack. As usual, we we’re right beside each other, me and Razau, while dipping our feet at the pond, talking about things. Each Pokemon were busy doing their own businesses while Grovyle is relaxing on a high place on a tree, taking a nap.
At a distance, I saw something flashed. Yeah, I saw many sudden object flash in my life, but this one, I’m just suddenly curious where it came from. I asked Razau if he would come to escort me and find out what he is. He agreed, no problem. So we marched to the other side of the pond and went deep to the woods. When we got there, we never saw anything. In shame, we decided to come back.
I started a conversation so we won’t get bored.
“So umm, great fieldtrip huh?” I asked. He answered,
“Of course, buddy! Being your friend is the best thing I can ever receive!” he said happily. A tear dropped from my eyes as I hear those words coming out from my best friend’s mouth.
“Well, best friends forever?” I asked with a smile.
“Of course, buddy. Forever and ever best friends, the two of us.” He said and then we hugged each other. After having our moment, we moved on to walking back the campsite.
When we did came back, it was already sunset. Nobody was there to accompany us, even Grovyle. We panicked.
“W-what do we do now Razau? I’m scared!” I hugged Razau’s arms while terribly shaking. He held him close, saying with confidence,
“No matter what happens, I will protect you buddy.” At least he was able to boost my confidence a little. He set up a bonfire so we could have a little visibility as the moons and stars appear at the sky.
We fell asleep, well, I was the first one. Then suddenly, I heard a growl, much like a Mightyena’s. I woke up and shook Razau to wake him up. He was a little fuzzed up and as he sits up while scratching his eye, he said,
“ What is it Hikaru?” “I heard a growl and it’s really near us! I heard it really!” I said with a shaky voice.
“Well , we better get out of here, quick!” he stood up and took my hand and runs away as quick as we can, just to escape the thing that we fear the most.
At one point, four Mightyena’s blocked our way. They were after me! Slowly they were approaching towards us but Razau fend them off, saying
“Get away from my buddy!” A Mightyena walked up in front of us, smirked, and said,
“You got a lot of guts kid. Get out of my way or I’ll have to deal with you personally.” He gave his scary growl while looking at Razau.
“I am not scared of you, bring it on!” he challenged him and shouted
“Run Hikaru!” and shot a Aura Sphere at the ground, causing smoke to at least buy me some time to run away. We both ran away while the Mightyenas are hot on our trail. They were after for Razau first, so that he may not distract them from eating me. One leaped from tree to tree and once he caught up with us, he made a huge leap from high above and was about to pounce me but Razau blocked him and he got pounced instead. The Mightyena said,
“ I just had enough of you and I’m gonna get rid of you once and for all!” I can’t let him get beat up just like that! I ran towards him but Razau shouted at me,
“Save yourself!” “But Razau…” I have my doubts.
“I said go! Go!” he fought with the Mightyenas himself just to let me escape. When I was running away, I cried hard and whispered to myself,
“I thank you Razau, I will come back for you.”
I lost them. Luckily, I saw Juraru, doing his daily meditating on a lake. He doesn’t usually do his meditations at night, but this is just really strange for me. No time to waste, I ran up to him and said ,
“ S-s-sensei!” while trying to catch up with my breath. He replied with a little confusion,
“What is it my student?” “Razau… He’s being attacked and I need your help!” I said in a shaky voice.
“What?” he stood up,
“I’ll call the others, you get some rest. You should not deal with this situation.” Before he could ran off, I pulled his leg and said,
“I should go along with you.” “No, no you shouldn’t. We can’t lose 2 students in an instant. “ He said in a hurry and then ran off. I have no choice, Sensei’s orders. I ran up to our hut, shut the door and lay on the bed. After settling down, I thought to myself,
“What did he meant by, ‘lose two students at an instant’ ? Does that mean that Razau won’t make it?” I started to worry.
“I hope they would be successful in rescuing my buddy.” Trying to get the worry out of my mind, I just decided to sleep. Maybe that would help. When I did sleep, I had a dream; Razau’s was getting beated up. I was just watching him, not giving any help. Someone suddenly tapped me at the back. I was surprised. It was Razau, he was slightly whiter than I remembered, also, what’s he doing here if he’s getting beat up over there? I’m confused. He slaps my face and that took me down to the ground. He blames me for his suffering. I’m trying to say sorry to him.
“ I’m sorry buddy! I didn’t mean to…” He interrupted,
“Buddies doesn’t ditch buddies and watch them die. Maybe we’re not one. As of now, don’t call me ‘buddy’ anymore…” and walked away. That’s all that I can recall that day.
I woke up. What a horrible nightmare! Is it really true? It couldn’t be. No, we promised we’re going to be best buds forever. I paused for some minutes, thinking if it was just an illusion, or a message. Then I realized that I was going to be late again at the training. Rushing to get there in time, I skipped breakfast and ran to the training grounds. Upon arriving, I saw Grovyle, wandering around. I asked about Razau’s condition.
“Razau huh? He’s in critical condition and now being treated at the Pokemon Center at town.” He said.
“I’m sorry, truly I am…” he followed up and hops from tree to tree away from me. I was really worried, is he... dead? No! He’s not! Impossible! He’ll be okay. Who am I kidding? Time will tell.
Our secretary, Tsu, one of the Eevee bros, reports the daily attendance.
All I can hear is…
“Sorry to tell you that Razau’s absent…”
He’ll be okay.
“Sorry to tell you that Razau’s absent…”
He’s probably recovering by now right?
“Sorry to tell you that Razau’s absent…”
Not too long, he’s going to come back with a big smile and surprise us all.
I just wanted to hear an
“I’m happy to tell you that everybody’s present!” from Tsu.
He’s been saying that each time we made an attendance check. It lasted for about 3 weeks. Back at the first week, I promised myself that I would not ditch another session of practice so that I may get an Perfect Attendance Award for Razau.
A week later, he did came back for a day when we were having a daily meditation. He looked so frail, and he’s being assisted by Grovyle, at least, that’s the only way that he can repay for failing to make the headcount before they left (it’s a little fault on ours too so, I may call it even, but it’s not fairly evened.) He still has that smile. He told us what really happen, it was devastating. I don’t want to hear it. I can’t even remember what he really particularly say but I remembered one phrase,
“… because my friend was in trouble.”
My heart sank, it’s like he really did this all for me. I couldn’t thank him for more. I owe him my life. After some minutes, he needs to go back and take some rest. Before he departed back to the Centre, he said goodbye and he’ll be back after a month! That’s a huge relief! We’ll be able to have more fun and be able to hear what I really wanted to hear for a long time. Plus, I’ll not be lonely on the hut anymore!
But, destiny didn’t let us meet again.
After a week of his visit, Razau died of heart failure.
We were completely shocked, I thought he was going to be back! No, he can’t fulfill his promise. On that day also , I received a “Perfect Attendance Award “. It was for him, but he passed away. What now? This was suppose to be my ‘Thank you’ gift for him. I hope this event would make me a better rescuer aspirant with inspiration to move on.
I didn’t expect that I’m going to hear the perfect attendance with only thirty-nine Pokemon. I wanted it to be forty. I’m sorry Razau.
After the ceremony, Tsu done the report.
“I’m happy to tell you…” my classmates and I were starting to cry
Tsu smirked, and said,
“Nevermind what I said, Everybody is present” and dropped a tear.

CHAPTER TWO- Moving On
Months later, I’m still my old self, the same ol’ Snivy. I learned some good moves like Leaf Tornado, and Juraru gave me some kind of disc, and I started to use Aerial Ace. Still remembering my dear friend’s death, I still do my best to keep up with my training and aim to be a part of a great Rescue Team. I’m doing this not just for me, it’s for him. He always wanted to be one. I see the qualities of a hero in him. Just look at him, he’s kind. He helps a lot of people. Most of all, befriends anyone even me, when I first met him. I was a stranger to him back then, but he acted that he really knew me that well. Talking about it seems to give some help, but talking about the thing that he sacrificed himself for me is another thing. I’ve been in the training grounds for 9 months, meaning that he already passed away 6 months ago. I may not be the best in my class, in fact, I’m confident that I’m really doing well and my Sensei is proud of my progress. Anyway, back on to the story.
Well it all started when I started when I started to conduct a general cleaning and some rearrangements on … “our” hut…
I went home really late. The house was a big mess, like a storm came in and wrecked the place. Razau always clean the place here. Now he’s gone, it’s a big mess since I’m really not that diligent when it comes to cleaning stuffs. I already wasted my energy on today’s practice, so I just planned to do the cleaning tomorrow. I jumped on the bed, which is just a piled-up hay, curled up, and slept.
I had another dream, and he’s in it. This is really disturbing me, it’s been a while that I’ve always been dreaming about a dead perso-- … friend. As hours pass by, the sun came up. It shows off his bright light rays and went through pass the window and onto my face. I squinched my eyes and started to wake up. The first thought that came in my mind is that freaking sun has a pretty good aim even at millions of miles away in distance. I jumped off my bed, did some exercise, and ate some food. I noticed that it’s just around 5 in the morning, judging the angle of the sunlight. Training doesn’t start until 3 hours. Oh, I remembered. I was suppose to do some general cleaning so my place won’t look that filthy. I didn’t do that right away, I first took a glimpse of the view from the inside of the window for a few minutes, adoring the day’s beauty, and went off cleaning by starting to dust off the dirt accumulated for some time all over the place. Then did some repair on the hut so it won’t collapse, and finally, I was about to move the bed and do some more dusting.
While I was moving the bed, I found a book entitled “Black Twin”. I didn’t know Razau had this book under his bed and so I thought, “Why not take a break for a while?” After some thoughts, I jumped on the hay bed again and began reading it while I hold it up high. I read the introduction first and I realized that the principle of the story is pretty much the same with Yin and Yang. While I was about to turn to page 16, there was some kind of note placed between page 16 and 17. Out of curiosity, I took the note, let go of the book for a while and opened it so I can read it.
Something was actually written, and it was in Razau’s penmanship…
“ I need you. Come here now...”
I was a little confused when I saw that note. Maybe he wrote that a long time ago. I mean, when I met him, he was currently living alone in his home. Loneliness leads you to sadness that might have caused him to write such thing. Personally, I think that this has a deeper meaning; maybe he does need me right now in his grave. His poor soul must be really sad. The truth is, I only visit him every month or so. I kept my perfect attendance award beside him in a steel box. It was suppose to be his token of friendship from me and also a proof that I’m really doing well in training without him. Of course, the second purpose is not really going so well. Even though he’s in heaven, I still dream of him and I think he’s alive; I can just tell! What’s the point? It’s not like that if I say he’s alive, does mean he really is. So I shrugged it off and placed the note in father pages of the book and continued to read.
Another weird thing happened; this time, it wasn’t just a something you see these days. When I was reading the fourth paragraph, I saw that the writer placed 5 spaces for the next paragraph instead of the standard 2 spaces. It wasn’t much of a big deal; I mean… everybody commits mistakes. Accepting the fact that it’s nothing, I continued to read but there was actually something written in between the fourth and fifth paragraph. I saw a dialogue stating “I need you, buddy. Come here…” Now that’s no coincidence, the twins could neither say such thing like that in that scene! The was a fight between the siblings and suddenly, I see this dialogue? This must be a joke, someone placed this on purpose. I don’t know the intention of whoever wrote this. Analyzing the penmanship, I went into a deep thought; I saw this style of writing before. There I realized it was Razau’s. My dead friend, trying his best to communicate to with me even in distances I couldn’t have imagined. Wait, souls rise up to heaven after the 40th day after death, but it’s been 6 months! Maybe he’s still here, finding a way to get noticed. I, then planned to go to his grave later and check if my hunch is right, but first things first. I must clean the whole house and go to the training grounds afterwards. So I jumped off my bed, wrapped the book in a blanket and placed it in my bag, and continued to conduct the general cleaning.
After that episode was over, I went to the training grounds and they were already doing some exercise when I got there. It’s too risky if I let Juraru see me going here late again, he’ll make me do 3 laps around the whole forest again. Talk about punishment huh? Having my doubts, I started to tiptoe away from the area and go back to my home, pretending I’m sick. I came across to a pitfall trap. It’s not that well designed; I can see some flaws to it, and there’s a leaf standing out of it.
“Wait a minute… This is no leaf!” I noticed quickly when it flicked. Out came Sirzaku’s head, looking at me and makes a face that intimidates me. I asked,
“What are you doing down there, Sirzaku?” “Oh nothing, I love seeing you trying to escape.” he chuckled.
“If you follow logic, I should be the one who was suppose to be in that pitfall trap, right?” I smirked. He answered back, with a raised eyebrow,
“You know how I can appear so unexpected at times. Anyway, you’re going to the grounds, kiddo.” I didn’t much have of a choice, he’s that damn strong. Without hesitation, I went back to the training grounds with Sirzaku, and went to Juraru, which was relaxing on the lake as he always do, to talk about my truancy.
We approach Juraru, and immediately he asked,
“What is it this time, Sirzaku?” He answered,
“Kiddo’s trying to ditch training again.” Juraru asked calmly,
“Is this true, Hikaru?” I turned away, giving him a conclusion that I really did. He sighed,
“We’ve talked about thi--…” I interrupted,
“Razau.” Juraru and Sirzaku was confused.
“What about him?” Sirzaku asked.
“Well, he left a note at a book that was in our hut.” Juraru was shocked,
“A note? That’s completely impossible if you ask me. If you’re forgetting where you are right now, you’re living in the world without your best friend.” I paused for a while. It just hurts to know that he’s really gone. The pain, it’s coming back. I’m trying to hold back my tears, but I just can’t. I looked down and dropped a tear. Sirzaku patted me on the back,
“He didn’t meant to say that…” I slapped down his hand,
“No, he’s right. You don’t know what it feels like to know your friend won’t be going back anymore!” “Hikaru…” Juraru started to take back his words. I ran away out of anger. I didn’t look back, I was angry at them and I don’t want to look back on their faces for a while. I ran to the hut, shut the door, locked it, got the book from my bag and jumped to my hay bed while I hugged it. I was whispering to myself,
“They’re lying… Razau’s alive and I just know it.” Suddenly, a strong wind blew through my window and carried the book with it. I panicked; I can’t lose that book. Mainly, it’s Razau’s! I came out of the house, went east where I saw the book as carried away, and went there to search it for hours.
-----
CHAPTER THREE- He Didn't Left
It was night time. I was really scared. It’s like the night when we were attacked. I was going to go back home since I can’t really find the book. Oh well, no use being here. Then I realized that I was near Razau’s resting place. This is an opportunity to visit his grave and find out why I’m experiencing these events. Looking at his grave, I noticed that the book was perfectly placed beside it, along with the steel box which I placed my perfect attendance award for him. I checked at the steel box and it was still there, like it was never been touched for 6 months. Then I remembered the book; did this book lead me to this place? Does he really want me now that bad? He is my best friend after all. I still see the note that I placed it in between pages. I took a glance at it again, and there, it still contains the same message. Reading it again, I saw a note below written in little letters, saying, “Turn this around.” Around huh? No problem. I did turn it around and it displayed another note. Now it says, “ Do not fear, I’m here now, buddy.” Wait, what? Is this serious? I closed my eyes and started to think about this. Maybe he really is alive, or just someone playing tricks on me. When I had my eyes closed, someone snuck up on me from behind. I didn’t realize there was someone behind until he stomped his right foot and startled me. I turned around, laying on my back as a response of the sudden stomp, I didn’t see a clear image of him. He was about my size but I smell something fishy about him. The moonlight shining behind him made his front side which I was facing, dim. He reached me with his paw, and there’s kind of a shiny point that was on his paw. Who am I kidding? I barely know this person and he might do something I don’t want to experience. So instead of grabbing his paw, I stood up, tripped, but recovered and then ran away as fast as I can. He followed right behind me, hopping from tree to tree and so I thought:
“Who are you? What do you want?”
Then he pounced me, pinning me down to the ground…
“Stop ! Don’t run away!” He said to me in a loud voice.
“I don’t wanna die yet! Don’t hurt me! Have mercy! ” I spoke out loud, having a go in his emotions.
“Don’t worry, I’m here…” he paused and whispered,
“… buddy.”
“No, it can’t be you…” I said while trying to hold back my tears.
“You died b-because of m-m-me. How could y-you b-be al-li-live now, b-buddy?” Tears started to fall from my eyes; I couldn’t hold it anymore. Why is he here? Shouldn’t he be in heaven or something?
“I know its kind of hard to believe, but I’m here now buddy.” He said then stood up and extended his paw at me so I could stand up. I have some thoughts; it is a good thing that he’s here right in front of me right now but what’s really bugging me is the fact that he’s alive. Resurrection isn’t possible! What if he’s just an illusion? What if he isn’t? The whole time I was having thoughts, I just blankly stared at him. He spoke,
“Umm, is everything alright?” then he thought his approach was a little “too” surprising,
“Is it something I done?” I didn’t reply at all as for I’m still too distracted.
“Well if you want it that way.” He said then stopped reaching for me and frowned. Finally, I snapped out of confusion. I saw him looking down at the ground while having a frown on his face. I thought,
“Wow, this is the first time I saw him sad. As his friend, I must make him happy.” Realizing what I’ve done, I stood up and hugged him while sniffling from time to time. I heard his soft laugh and hugged me back.
“Well my friend, welcome back.” I said while a smile while patting his back, still hugging him. He replied,
“It’s good to be back buddy.” and hugged me tighter.
How could this day get any better?
-----
CHAPTER FOUR- The First Few Hours
We went home as buddies. The soon as we got there, we lay down on our hay bed and made ourselves comfy. He said in a sudden,
“Tomorrow, you will understand everything, buddy.” Sighing, I said,
“ I don’t need to know it anymore, buddy.” “No no, I insist. You must know what really happened.” he forced me to say yes.
“Sounds convincing enough” I said after I nodded to see my approval. I added,
“For now, we should be going to sleep." I looked outside the window and saw the night sky’s beauty while he replied,
“Sweet dreams.” I replied,
“You too buddy.” Then faced the opposite of his side,
“… you too.” After some moments, I fell asleep.
I woke up early the next morning while laying down. I stretched my arms and legs (talk about being a snake Pokémon). I looked beside me and there he was, still sleeping peacefully.
“He looks kind of cute.” I giggled softly, doing the best I can to prevent him from waking up. I jumped off the bed and then I remembered the “Black Twin” book. I forgot to bring it home! I was having a moment with Razau that I completely forgot it. I ate some berries on my way out of the house and marched to his grave. When I did arrive, the grave is still there with a cross on top of it. The steel box in which I stored my token of appreciation to him is still beside it. Wonder if I dug up the grave, maybe his body is gone. Wait, doesn’t this make him “undead” ? No matter, he’s my friend and I know he wouldn’t hurt me. Still no sight of the book, I wandered off a little and I saw Sirzaku, takig a rest at a tree branch high above while reading the book I’ve been searching for. I called out for him,
“Sirzaku!” He didn’t hear it the first time so I tried it five more times,
“Sirzaku! Sirzaku! Sirzaku! Sirzaku! Sirzaku!” Each call was progressively getting louder from the previous one. Finally after some tries, he heard me and looked below him at me,
“Oh! Hey Hikaru!” he shouted and jumped off the branch that was really high and landed safely on the ground without injuries.
“Wow, that was something” I blinked my eyes numerous times. He bows and said,
“Thank you Hikaru. So now, how could I serve you today, kiddo?” I groaned,
“Did you just call me what I think you just called me?” “Yeah…” he replied with a smirk on his face. I pouted,
“Stop calling me that! It’s getting old. Call me Hikaru! It’s much more good to hear than kiddo.” He chuckled,
“Oh you’re still the same Hikaru from the first time we met; always picky on things.” He really got on my nerves this time,
“Look, even if you are a Sensei, it doesn’t mean you can just call me names and push me around." He replied,
“True but that doesn’t also give you a right to force me to call you with names you wanted me to use.” I really got irritated,
“Just give me the book and let’s get this over with!” “Fine, kiddo. Catch!” he threw it up high in the air. I caught the book by my hands and to my surprise, he took off.
“Very clever Sirzaku, very clever.” I said to myself then sighed. I went back home with the book and to my surprise, Razau wasn’t there when I got back.
I roamed everywhere in the forest. Unluckily, I didn’t find him. Where could he be now? Wait a minute, I haven’t checked the pond yet! I zoomed to the pond and as I expected, he was there, dipping his feet on the water. He turned around and saw me.
“Come sit beside me Hikaru, buddy.” he said. This is kind of creepy if you were to ask me.
“Ughh, okay.” I sat beside him and played with my feet on the pond.
