Sleuth's Official Theme Development Thread
Welcome to Sleuth's Official Theme Development Thread!

Hello, and my name is Sleuth. I am the official theme designer of Pokeboard. I also run some other projects such as the Monthly Pokeboard Magazine, Artistic Design [GFX group], and Pokeboard's official art contests. This thread is for the development of the themes I make for Pokeboard. I will keep you updated with new updates of current themes here, and upcoming new themes. You guys may also give suggestions and ideas; just post here to help in any way. Smile

These following images above that have a bunch of unusual names, to you guys, are called "CSS Elements". Elements like "body", "#container, ".thead", ".tcat", "#panel", ect.

So like I said, feel free to post here with any suggestions and or ideas. Smile

RE: Sleuth's Official Theme Development Thread
I think you should update the Leaf banner with more Grass type Pokemon. Mainly the legendary ones since they're so popular.

Also for the Fire banner should be changed from Giratina to some fire type of any kind, since having a Giratina for the fire theme doesn't make much sense.

Yeah, get something that suits the fire theme, Like a magmortar ;D

But any fire legendary such as Moltres, Heatran or any others is fine Big Grin

Well done, you're reading this signature.

RE: Sleuth's Official Theme Development Thread
...Fire, Leaf, and Water.

Seeing as above are all types are you trying to cover every type? If so I think that the electric themes main colors should be black and yellow. (No pun intended. And then were the Pokemon at the top would be make it surrounded by a glowing yellow, you know to make it stand out.

Also, maybe make a theme where the top pokemon has it's Gen. 1 Sprite. (Like Mewtwo) And make it the retro theme?

And I agree with the two above me. Leaf is sorta bland, and Fire isn't fitting.

Leaf isn't a type and he is working on ocean. So he isn't gonna cover all types. Tongue

Leaf could be considered Grass. Seeing as Grass is part of nature and so is leaf. But that was just my theory...

RE: Sleuth's Official Theme Development Thread
Thanks for the suggestions and ideas guys. I do plan on changing the banners from each theme to a new, clean banner. For PKMNTrainer09's first comment, I could plan on making a theme for each type; though each theme will be the same, except a different color. So I do plan on making themes that are way different then the ones we have now. Tongue For the theme I'm working on now, Pokeboard Ocean v.1, I plan on giving out a screenshot of the new theme sometime today. It's not completely finished, and I do plan on adding some Pokemon images to it. Smile

Here is a screenshot of the new theme Pokeboard Ocean v.1. Note that it isn't completed yet, so any suggestions or ideas to the theme will be helpful. Smile

Spoiler

The ".thead" and ".tfoot" will not show up if you are using Internet Explorer 8. If you are using IE 9, then it will work. Though I do not suggest upgrading to IE 9 due to the "double posting" on a forum, which is a known bug in IE 9. Smile

RE: Sleuth's Official Theme Development Thread
Hmmm.. Gyarados is cool but maybe you should add in more famous or popular Water types.
Starters are a good start. (no pun intended)

Yeah, I've added a new logo with 4 Pokemon on it, and added a "sandy" tone to the theme. Smile

Like I said in the shoutbox, the Buizel doesn't seem to fit. His color stands out to much and is much like a distraction...
I like the sand colored lining though.

Haha, thanks. I just made another little change. When you browse a forum and such, and you go up or down the list of threads, a Staryu moves and comes along with you. I wish I can show you how it works, though I can only give you guys a screenshot. Embarrassed

RE: Sleuth's Official Theme Development Thread
Depending on what the script is (ie., like the one used on PokeCommunity where the navbar always follows you), can you also create a version where the Staryu is, say, always at the very bottom (not moving), or not there at all?

I might be using this theme, and pretty much any script that causes something to move like that messes with my iPod.

If you don't want to create an alt. right away, I can report to you if it works once it's up.

I can make it where it won't move, and that it'll stay at the very bottom. But if you'd like that option, where if you want it moving, not moving, or not there at all; then that'll all have to be 3 separate themes, just with a slight change.
