Upside down - the collaborative story

Bryan, Eli and i were planning this story ages ago, but we only remembered it a few days ago, we are starting it now, but, due to commitments, exams, and general writers block, plus wanting to make the story as good as we can, dont expect loads of chapters very quickly.

without further adieu, lets start.

Chapter 1 - Quakes morning

"Quaaaaaaake dont forget your lunch money" mum shouted down the stairs at me as i was walking out the door, pausing only to grab a slice of toast in my gaping jaws.
"ive got it" i mumbled through the toast, as my greyish skin gleamed in the morning light, i turned, nudged the door closed, and set off on the short walk to the academy, crunching down the last of the toast with a satisfied lick of my teeth afterwards, it was rawst jam, my favourite, and i was determined to savour every morsel.

I passed many admirers especially considering that it is just a five minute walk, because i am so different, and unusual, everyone loves me, because my greyish skin should be brown, as I am a trapinch, and that is a trapinch's normal colour, but I am shiny
As i waited outside my friends house for him to walk in with me to our school, watamu academy, which, as you can probably guess, is in our village, watamu village, i toed the ground, looking at my feet, when i felt the ground slightly shake
"dad must be showing off his earthquake again" i thought, as i heard my friends door start to open, i turned my head and smiled.

today had began like countless days before, a normal day, and yet, at the end of it, things would never be the same again, for Quake, or indeed, the rest of the world.

Here's my intro

Chapter 1 - Alpha in da morning

I was sleeping in my bed when I heard
"Alpha! Time to get up!" My mom yelled up the stairs.
I moaned.
"Aww Mom...Five more minutes..." I said.
I pulled the covers over my head.
"But you'll miss out on Oran berry smoothies!" My mom yelled back to me.
Hearing this I quickly got out of bed, Oran Berry smoothies are my favorite.
I ran downstairs and my mom handed me a smoothie.
"Thanks Mom " I said before I happily slurped the smoothie. It only took me a minute to finish my smoothie.
"Wow son, that must be a new record for you" My mom said.
"Ya, lol I rock " I said and laughed.
I did the arm shuffle to loosen up my arms and paws. You see, I'm not an ordinary Riolu, I was born with the ability to use Aura Sphere even though I haven't evolved into a Lucario like my mom. Nobody is sure how it happened, but everybody thinks it cool. I looked out the window and saw my friend Quake walking to school.
"I'm gonna go hang out with a friend mom" I said.
"Ok, have fun " My mom said.
So I walked outside to meet up with Quake.

Alrighty then. And my chapters are going to be VERY detailed, so be prepared. lol But not this one.

I was in the best place in the world. I loved it so much, but I never learned the name. I saw rocks, and shining crystals of multiple various colors. I also saw a stream running through the middle. I love water so much. I started to walk over there, until I saw her. The girl of my dreams. She's one of a kind. So cute, so lovable. Reinti. The Manaphy. Humans in other lands say that Manaphies don't have genders, but as Pokemon, we know. She was chilling in the pool, and then she looked at me. I started to run and the jumped into the stream. We started to hug and dance around. She leaned in for a kiss, and so did I. We were so close, and then...
"Triton! Wake up!" My older brother Theseus yelled at me.
"I'M UP!" I yelled back. Man, it was just getting good too. I went in the bathroom to get ready. Took a shower... well, maybe 2. I really love water. I'm a Squirtle, what would you expect?

I'm just a regular Squirtle. Not a shiny like Quake. Nor do I have special moves like Alpha. All mine are either egg or taught. But, there is one thing. Actually, two. My skin is like a Shiny Squirtle's, but my shell isn't green, so I'm not shiny. Yet, my shell is white. My dad says that it's in my heritage of strange colors, but I think it's something more. I went outside to see my friends before I got some breakfast. I did a front flip into my mini-lake by my 2nd story window then walked over to Quake and Alpha.

Chapter 2 - to the academy!!

i heard a loud splash, originating from behind me, without bothering to turn round (which takes longer than you would think, since im a reeeeaaally slow ant, i have 10 base speed for cryin out loud) I called out to my other best friend "hey trition, did you do a backflip or frontflip today?" trition always jumped into his mini lake, and, for as long as i can remember, i have been trying to guess which way he dived into the pool.
"i front flipped today Quake, man i love the water" trition paddled around in the azure lake, under the still clear sky, whilst Alpha walked lithely down his path, to stand next to Quake, as soon as they started toward the academy, Trition joined them, and the three friends walked side by side, laughing at in jokes, walking at Quakes slow pace, as, underfoot, the ground shook again.

The trio arrived at the academy, and headed to their first class, move tutoring, quake was trying to learn earth power, so was looking forward to the lesson, but the fire bell rang, so they assembled on the yard with their classmates, assuming a drill, until Alpha noticed a distinct smell of smoke, and, after he mentioned it, the others could smell smoke too.

"AWESOME!!!"

The Academy was on fire!! Smoke was now clearly visible from the TM lab, the students were given the day off!!

the ground shook again, but the friends were too exited at the prospect of a day off whilst the fire was extinguished to notice it, but something wasnt right, something was not even close to being right, and it was only a matter of time before, whatever it was became clear, not just to watamu village, but to the entire world.

Being given the day off, Triton, Quake, and I left the academy and were walking down the road.
"What should we do today?" I asked my two best friends.
"Let's go in the water" Triton said.
"Oh Triton, you really love water don't you?" I said and laughed.
"How about we play hide and seek in the meadow like we always do?" Quake suggested.
"Good idea, then we can relax I said.
So we walked at Quake's pace to the meadow.
We started playing hide and seek. I was it. I counted to 60 since Quake couldn't run very fast.
"58...59...60! Ready or not, here I come!" I yelled.
I walked around. I soon found Quake hiding behind a bush.
"Found ya Quake!" I said and laughed.
"Aww" Quake sighed.
Quake and I walked around looking for Triton.
"Where do you think Triton would hide?" I asked Quake.
"Well, knowing Triton, he's probably hiding by the pond over there" Quake said.
"True. seeing that he loves water" I said.
We walked over and saw a bunch of rocks next to the water. One of them didn't exactly look normal.
I ran over and knocked on it with my paw.
"Aw crap, you found me" Triton said and came out of his shell. He then jumped into the water and started swimming.
I jumped in and splashed Triton. He splashed me back. It was a water fight!
Quake didn't really like the water. But he kicked water at me and Triton with his feet.
Suddenly, a strange portal opened right in front of me in the water. It started sucking me in.
"GUYS! HELLLPPPPP!" I yelled in panic.
A whirlpool had formed on the outside ring of the portal.
I tried to swim away but I couldn't get anywhere.
"ALPHA!" both Triton and Quake yelled.
Triton quickly grabbed my paw and at the same time Quake grabbed Triton's hand with his jaws. It hurt Triton's hand a little, but Triton didn't care. They tried to pull me back to shore. But it wasn't working. We weren't gaining or losing any ground. All the sudden a huge burst of force pulled us all into the portal.
We started falling. Everything went black.
A little later I woke up on the ground in some strange world that I'd never seen before.
"Ughh, you guys ok?" I asked.
No answer.
I sat up and looked around. My friends weren't there. We'd been separated.
"AAAH WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?!" I yelled. There wasn't even an echo. I was alone...

Chapter 6 (Yes, if you count it all up, it's 6.): What Is This Place!?!

"Ugh... where am I?" I asked myself. Then I said "Guys, what happened?" No answer. "ALPHA! QUAKE!" Still nothing. I was starting to freak out. My two best friends were somewhere I didn't know, and I didn't even know where I was. I looked around and saw nothing but rocks. I stomped on the ground. It was super tough. I used Aqua Tail, a move my dad taught me, and I actually hurt my tail. It was as brown as wood. Then I looked over to a rocky wall, and saw stalagmites on it. I'm pretty sure they're only either on the ground, or the ceiling. The very weird thing was, they were of 3 different colors, and in a triangle. The top one was a bright spring grass green. The bottom left was a very fiery red. And the bottom right was as blue as my skin. In the middle was a strange looking shape. It looked like an ancient drawing. I spent around 10 minutes trying to figure out what it was.

"Ouuraaaah!" It was a Pokemon's screaming that I heard. It wasn't a scream of pain, but I went over there either way. Well, not all the way. It's arms and legs were, but the others were not. Also, its body wasn't all rugged like usual ones. It was very very smooth. I said "...Hi!" It looked me square in the face. It snorted pebbles into my face. I said "Hey! What's your problem!?!" I used Bubblebeam on it. It started to scream very loud now, as if trying to signal something. Then, from in front of me, around 10 Golems, Dugtrios, Sandslashes and Rhydons came out of the ground and screamed at me. They didn't even break any ground or rocks. They came through like a Ditto through a tube. I was scared out of my mind. I started to run, but only got back to where I woke up. They trapped me in between the 3 spikes of crazy colors. I fell into the wall, and came out the other side. It was like water. It felt awesome. But I had no time for cool feelings. There were 5 other Kanto-Originating Ground types waiting for me, after finishing up a meal of what looks like Charti Berries with rocks. I stood my ground and prepared for battle.

Chapter 7- alone in the dark

I tried to call out to my friends, but something was in my mouth. I used all of the power in my fearsome jaws, and snapped it in two. Upon closer inspection, i discovered it was a tree trunk. After clearing a splinter from my teeth, again, and this time successfully called out to my friends,"hey guys, look at the treetrunk in two, that was me, i bit it in half, did i just use crunch?" but there was no answer.
I turned round, timing it at sixteen seconds, not quite a personal record, but not far off, I was pretty pleased with myself, until i realised that i couldnt see my friends.
"Hello, Alpha, Triton, where are you?" i called again and again, pausing only to listen for their reply, but still the only reply was the soft chirruping of some unseen kriketot, and the soft gurgling of a nearby stream. I was alone, somehow, i had been separated from my friends, I had no idea where they were, or, for that matter, where i was either.
Since i was so very alone, i decided to look around, and take stock of my surroundings. It was dark, but not fully so, probably dawn or dusk, or perhaps the trees just filtered out the light, due to their thick canopy, either way, after walking around the clearing i had landed in, i decided to wait a few hours, to see whether it got any darker or lighter, before trying to find my way out of the spooky forest, and back to my friends. There was something about the folorn trees, with their thick trunks joined by wispy cobwebs that gave me the creeps, and i couldnt shake he feeling that i was being watched, so i returned to the tree that i had bit in two, pushed the pieces together so that their ends met at rightangles, then dug a shallow whole to cover my body, banking the loose earth as a pillow for my grey head, then slowly walked, yet, for me it was a brisk walk, to the nearby stream, that was bubbling peacefully through the now otherwise slient clearing, and ate some bluk berries, from the bushes that lined the muddy riverbank, returned to my hole, covered myself with the earth, lay my head on my surprisingly comfortable earthen pillow, and fell asleep.

When i awoke in what i assumed to be the morning, although it was no brighter, so it was hard to tell, it may have been midnight, or it may have been the morning, either way, even through my dulled sense of smell, my muted hearing, and my bleary eyes, it was immediately apparent that something different, that something had changed, and that something was VERY wrong........
"you are in trouble now Quake", i thought with a gulp, as i saw precisely what was wrong.

Chapter 8: A new found friend

I was running around frantically searching for my friends.
I suddenly lost my footing and starting falling from a cliff and hit the ground hard.
"Oww...ya...that definitely hurt..." I said myself out loud.
I was about to start walking when I saw an injured Pachirisu lying on the ground tied up in a vine.
I was shocked; I ran up to the Pachirisu and used Slash to cut the vine.
"Are you ok?!" I asked it pretty much shouting.
"Look out. There are traps everywhere" he said weakly.
I took a step back rather confused.
But when I stepped back, a small layer of ground broke beneath me and I fell down.
I stood up and tried to walk away from it but I was yanked back.
My foot had landed in some kind of goop.
I tried to pull my foot out but everytime I pulled away I got yanked back.
By this time the Pachirisu had stood up.
"Sticky trap!" He yelled.
He ran over to me.
"I'll help you!" He said practically shouting.
He grabbed my paws and tried to pull me out. But it wasn't working.
"Don't worry, I'll go get help" he said as he quickly ran off.
While the Pachirisu was gone I struggled to get my foot free, but it was no use. I was soon exhausted.
Just then the Pachirisu returned.
"I'm back! And I brought help just like I said I would!" he said.
There were 7 other Pachirisus standing there.
"Now lets get you out" he said just before he grabbed my paws again.
The others lined up by behind the Pachirisu and were ready to help.
"All right brothers, Pull!" He yelled.
I felt myself moving forward, but I could also feel the goop pulling me back. But I was slowly moving forward. All of the sudden my foot was out and I flew forwards. The Pachirisus flew backwards.
I was breathing hard. I then saw all of the Pachirisus standing over me. One of them stepped forward and asked me if I was okay.
"I think I'm okay but I feel really weak" I said.
"Then why don't you come back to our house to rest? It's the least we can do after you helped me when I was in trouble" he said.
The other Pachirisus nodded in agreement.
"Uh okay. Thanks " I said.
We walked back to the Pachirisu's house which wasn't too far away luckily.
I was laying down on a bed resting when the Pachirisu walked up to me.
"I never got to introduce myself, I'm Flash."
"Ah, my name's Alpha, pleased to meet ya" I said and put my paw out to Flash. We shook paws.
"By the way, thanks for saving me " I said.
"No problem, you helped me so I helped you " said Flash.
There was a short pause.
"Hey Flash, I'm just wondering. Why is it always dark in this world?" I asked.
"It's because of him..." He said.
"Who's him?" I asked Flash a little confused.
"Mewtwo...He came and took over this world and made it into a world of darkness. He's planning to conquer the other world too, so he's building an evil army of minions." said Flash.
"The other world...as in...my world?" I asked.
"Ya...Mewtwo is building his army using the pokemon he captures in his traps. That's the other reason I wanted to help you. If Mewtwo came along, and you were still stuck, he would have forced you into his evil army. I thought that you were way to nice of a pokemon to have that happen to you, so I got my brothers and we pulled you out before Mewtwo could find you" Flash said.
"Thanks Flash " I said happily.
"Don't mention it " Flash said and smiled.
I suddenly thought of my friends. Where were they? And were they safe?
"I have to find my friends! What if they are caught in a trap?!
I tried to stand up but I fell back down onto the bed.
"You can go look for your friends when you're strong again. But for right now you need to rest." Flash said.
As much as I didn't wanna hear it, I knew Flash was right.
Later Flash brought me a plate full of Oran berries saying that it was supper time.
I accepted the Oran berries gratefully and chowed down.
"How did you know Oran berries were my favorite?" I asked Flash with a mouthful of Oran berries.
Flash laughed and said: "I dunno, lucky guess?"
"Works for me" I replied after swallowing.
We both laughed.
I laid back on the bed, and yawned.
"I'm tired..." I said and yawned again.
"Night Flash " I said to him right before falling asleep.
I soon began to snore lightly.
Flash smiled and said: "Night Alpha...new found friend "

I'm not so sure about the house thing, but whatever. My vision is different, lolz. Here I go.

Chapter 9: Heated Cavern Battle

- There were 3 Nidokings, 2 Sandslashes, and one huge Marowak. The thing was like, 3 times the size of a regular one! It had a Golden Rare Bone. It looked as hard as Titanium. I was scared, but I couldn't back up now. Then, I would get killed by the other guys behind the wall. Then, I looked over to my right. There was a tunnel going up and out. I figured out that the Marowak was the boss. Anything that got in its was would get clobbered by it. And, it was walking very slow, because of its weight. It came close enough to be able to whack me with the Club. He raised it, then tried to slam it down. I saw that coming. I ran right threw his legs, and used Aqua Tail to KO a Nidoking. The other 2 chased after me. I used Ice Beam on the floor, causing the other 2 to slip and fall on each other. I did not see where the Sandslash Twins went. So, I assumed that they ran away. I ran through the tunnel, and went into a much smaller room. I felt a small earthquake. There was a ladder, and a hole going straight up. I climbed up, and I was outside. There was luscious shiny green grass everywhere. Then, just when I thought everything was ok, it wasn't.

-The 2 Sandslashes appeared, digging from underground. Then, a huge hole was made by them, and the Marowak climbed out. It sure was strong. He pointed his Bone at me and said "You are coming with me. Now." His voice was very loud and thunderous.
"Why? What did I do!?!" I yelled.
"All Pokemon in this dimension are to be drafted into Master Mewtwo's Army for War on the Real World. And he doesn't take no for an answer. I am Kogane, or Gold, the Marowak. I am one of Mewtwo's great disciples. I am the ruler, the boss of Gravel Tunnel, the place where we were just in. You will come with me, or I will just have to deal with you myself."
"Try me!" I yelled back confidently.
"Fine then. Have it your way. Sandslashes! Grab him!" They dug, and grabbed my arms so I couldn't escape. I only had one choice.

-I kicked at the Sandslashes' knees to knock them down, then I charged my energy. My shell started to glow bright, as did the lines on my belly. I looked to the sky. I released the energy out of my mouth, and created a Water Spout. Then, I used Ice Beam on the falling water. Ice shards then started to rain down. It went right through the Sandslashes. They died on contact. Kogane put his Bone up to shield his face, but one struck him in the waist, and he fell down. I walked to his face and said "And if you get up, tell Mewtwo that he's going down. No. Matter. What." I then used Aqua Tail right on his face. Then, I walked away. There were more rocks in the path ahead. Yet, it seemed very calm, like there were no Pokemon there. I walked about a mile ahead, then set up to rest in some bushes, where no one could find me. I wondered where my friends where, but I needed to survive a few more days.

Chapter 10... Trapped!!

Ok, my turn

Good thought about the army by the way...

"Heeeleellllp" I yelled, although to whom i have no idea, as the only people around me were the ones attacking me.
A leaf slammed into the ground inches from my face, as the log to my left was dragged away by strong vines. I got to my feet as fast as i could, and turned to face the pokemon who were attacking me.
There was a victreebel in the centre, and he was flanked by two vileplumes, whilst, in the trees above, an ariados sat, staring at me menacingly, lifting his front legs, as if he were about to use a move, shadowball maybe.
"Who dares to enter my domain?" screeched the ariados, as i looked at him directly, he was clearly the boss of the pokemon below, as the looked at him when he spoke, almost with adoration, and only returned their attention to me when he finished speaking.
"I'm Quake" I said, perhaps too cheerfully, but, since i didnt know why this guy was angry at me yet i decided to try and stop him from attacking me for a while longer.
"I dont know how i came here, i was sucked through some kind of portal, and, next thing i new, i was here, so i decided to sleep until it was lighter, and then make myway out of this (Your?) forest"
This clearly excited ariados, as he immediately reacted, with a huge, evil grin.
"seize him, he is from the other world, the master will reward us greatly for his capture!" he ordered the victreebel and vileplume, but, amazingly, i was too quick for their vines, and dug underground.
"you have one chance to surrender, or i will kill you" I yelled to the Vileplume and victreebel. they laughed, "you're pathetic, you could never harm us you measly, insignificant little ant"
"Your loss" I exclaimed, and i unleashed the best egg move ever. The ground split beneath their feet, causing them to fall into the hole, before it slammed back into place, crushing them, and killing them instantly.
"let me go ariados!" I yelled out defiantly to him, as he gasped at the ferocity of the fissure i had just unleashed. i returned to the surface, and was met by a horrible sight, and ariados's evil laughter.
"there is no escape now", he evilly exclaimed, and he was right, i was surrounded by a web, with the only exit about 10 feet above me, and, even if i could escape, hundreds of evil looking pokemon, venusaurs, sceptiles, parasects, pinsirs, beedril, arbok and many other pokemon that you would expect to live in a forest, were surrounding the perimeter of my prison.

"Now, you wait there, while i summon the master" Ariados said, with an evil look on his face,"I may be the master of this forest, but he is the master of the world. I am one of the 6 great disciples to mewtwo, umbra, or shadow, the ariados"

"Now what do i do?" I thought to myself, as the faces of the surrounding pokemon began to change from contempt to disbelief.....

Chapter 11: Moving Ahead

I woke up the next morning, (or at least we thought it was the next morning was still as dark as ever) and we all sat down around the big rock that was the table for breakfast. There were 9 huge leaves on top of the rock, all holding mixed berries and a wooden cup full of Pecha Berry juice.

While I was eating I thought of my friends. I decided that since I was feeling strong again, I would start searching for my friends when we were all done eating.

Once we were all done eating I walked up to Flash.
"I'm gonna go look for my friends, I hope they're ok..." I said to Flash.
"I'm sure they're fine. I know you'll find them" Flash replied.
There was a short pause.
"Thanks for everything Flash " I said.
I gave him a big hug with a tear in my eye.
"I might not see you again, so I just wanna say that I'm proud to have known you and to have been ur friend " I said to Flash.
"Same here " said Flash.
"I'll rid this world of Mewtwo and restore peace. I promise." I said.
"Be careful, btw, I want you to have these. Use them when you really need them " said Flash.
Flash handed me 3 rare candies.
"Thanks Flash, I'm sure these will come in handy " I said and smiled.
I walked out the cave that was the Pachirisus' house and waved goodbye to my friends the Pachirisus and set off to find Quake and Triton.

Chapter 12: Lost and Not Found

I woke up in the bushes. Oran Berries were growing by me. They weren't ripe yet, but I ate them anyway. I was feeling depressed. Pretty much everybody I see, either wants to put me in this army, to kill, and take over the world, or kill me myself. I was also extremely uncomfortable, being in this forest, which turned into a jungle the farther I walked. And something mad me feel really mad. With Mewtwo mind controlling people, even Bulbasaurs could come out and kill me instantly. In case you didn't know, Bulbasaurs, Charmanders and Squirtles are called "The Brothers Of Kanto" So it's like my biological brother killing me. We may fight from time to time, but I know we love each other. I was so angry. Nothing could lift this mood.

About half an hour more of walking, it started to get cold. I don't mean just a little chilly, I mean super cold. Like, "I need some Flareon Skin", type of cold. The jungle started to grow smaller as I kept walking, until it was simply naked, bare trees. Then, I felt snow a good 10 minutes later. Tiny snow flurries. The trees started to have snow on their branches. My head was nearly down the entire time. So, I lifted my head up, and I was astonished. It was an Ice Mountain, or a huge Glacier. It had to be over 100ft. high. It was so crazy, but I knew I couldn't go in there. I looked for a way around, but there were walls of snow. If I tried to go through, I might get crushed by all the snow, or freeze to death. These walls were made by Pokemon, so it wasn't natural. I had a feeling that someone evil was here.

I walked forward to go in, since there was a huge opening, but there was a moat. I guess this was made so that Fire-Types couldn't get in. My expression changed dramatically. My face lit up, and I back-flipped into the water. It was super-cold, but I didn't care one bit. Anything watery was good enough for me. I actually wished I was a Fire Type now, so i could melt this place, and make a huge flood. But of course, I would be dead, so maybe me being able to use Flamethrower would be perfect. I swam a good 30ft. and entered what was written on the wall. It read: "Welcome to the Ice Glory Castle. Enjoy". I walked ahead, expecting the worst.
